President and CEO
Stuart Blumberg is the President, CEO and Founder of Health Plus Management, with over 25 years of experience in medical care and executive leadership. In 1994, he identified the need for physicians to be able to focus on the care of their patients and not be burdened with the time-consuming administration of running a medical practice. He developed Health Plus Management as a comprehensive non-medical operational solution.
Mr. Blumberg’s forward thinking and dedication to customer service has enabled Health Plus Management to thrive for over two decades. Under his direction, the business has grown into a strong multi-specialty growth platform, supporting esteemed physicians in orthopedics, PM&R and physical therapy. He has increased the footprint of managed practices to more than 40 locations and facilitated countless lucrative transactions – including acquisitions, expansions and transitioning a long-standing hospital-based practice into an independent private practice.
His successes have been featured on popular news outlets, such as Crain’s NY, LIBN, Business Wire and NY Business Journal.
Previously, Mr. Blumberg was involved in the development and advancement of outpatient diagnostic, radiology and orthopedic centers.
Chief Operating Officer
Walter brings more than 20 years of experience in healthcare practice management, value-based care, and patient expertise to HealthPlus Management. Prior to HealthPlus Management, Walter was Chief Administrative Officer at Nuvance Health Medial Practice. He also served as the Operating Partner at Zenyth Partners; an experienced team of investment professionals and business leaders with significant operating experience and a vast network. Walter holds an MS in Health Service Administration from NYU, as well as an MPH of Public Health from Hunter College, a BS in Community Health from Mercy College, and an AA in Nursing from Misericordia Hospital in Bronx, NY.
Chief Financial Officer
Michael joined Health Plus Management in 2020, with over 20 years of experience in healthcare finance, M&A, and private equity. He brings extensive financial and operating expertise across a broad set of healthcare subsectors. In addition to his traditional role as Chief Financial Officer overseeing financial activities and reporting, Michael supports the company’s business development efforts, serving as a liaison to potential partner physicians and helping evaluate and execute acquisitions.
Prior to Health Plus Management, he served as Principal for Varsity Healthcare Partners, a healthcare private equity firm, where he helped grow numerous healthcare provider platforms. Michael also served on the Board of Directors for Forefront Dermatology (practice management), EyeCare Services Partners (practice management), Probo Medical (medical imaging equipment) and Surgical Affiliates Management Group (surgery program management/ surgicalists). Previously, he served as Vice President for MTS Health Partners, a merchant bank providing strategic advice and private equity capital to healthcare companies, and maintained other financial consulting and investment banking roles over his career.
Michael earned a BSE in Finance from the Wharton Business School at University of Pennsylvania, graduating cum laude from the Joseph Wharton Scholars program.
Chief Administrative Officer
Jeff Tarlowe is CAO of Health Plus Management, with more than 30 years of experience in financial and operational leadership roles in a variety of healthcare settings. Jeff has been a senior leader in the organization as CFO since 2020 and is now taking on the CAO role which will focus on strengthening relationships with our physician clients, improving operational performance of our client practices, overseeing Human Resources, Payroll and Legal, evaluating and implementing new systems and processes, and supporting business development strategy and execution.
During his career in healthcare, Jeff has achieved demonstrable results in growth and operational efficiencies in private equity-backed companies and large Fortune 50 organizations. In his most recent role as Operating Partner and Group CFO for Zenyth Partners, a healthcare-focused private equity fund, Jeff provided financial support to its portfolio companies, in addition to fund reporting and compliance. Previously, he served as CFO, OptumCare Delivery where he oversaw significant growth of the business to $1.2B in revenues across three states and 600 locations. Jeff began his career at Merck where he served in roles of increasing responsibility before spending several years at private equity backed healthcare technology companies.
Jeff earned an MBA in Finance with honors from Columbia Business School and a BA in Mathematics cum laude from Pomona College.
Chief Marketing Officer
Jeffrey Rubin has been the Chief Marketing Officer at Health Plus Management since its inception. Mr. Rubin and his team of sales/marketing representatives have since developed a broad and deep network of referral sources for managed practices.
As a health care professional, Mr. Rubin brings a unique perspective and understanding of the intrinsic needs of active and potential referral sources, tailoring nuanced messaging and services to their needs. Over the course of Health Plus Management’s evolution, the efforts of Mr. Rubin and his team have strengthened its reputation, bolstering the company as a trusted healthcare resource.
In addition to his marketing work for Health Plus Management, he played a key role in the foundation of its associated brand, Musculoskeletal Resources (MSR). He has facilitated access to MSR across a multitude of industries by building its presence and compounding its ability to promote physician practices. MSR is now a trusted and well-recognized network in the realm of pain and injury care.
Mr. Rubin received his B.S. degree from the University of Massachusetts and Doctorate in Chiropractic from Life College, School of Chiropractic.
SVP OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Eric Schencman, Senior Vice President of IT, brings Health Plus Management over 25 years of experience building and supporting applications and network infrastructures for multiple companies across five industries. Under Mr. Schencman’s leadership, Health Plus Management has made new and noteworthy strides as an IT-powered services company. He earned his B.A. in Communications from Hofstra University.
SVP of Finance and Business Intelligence
Moti Nahmany serves as the SVP of Finance and Business Intelligence for Health Plus Management. He is responsible for financial planning and reporting, data-driven operational analysis and organizational support – including the evaluation of new business opportunities and financial leadership of acquisition activities. He brings extensive experience in technology, investment banking and finance.
He holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Technion – Israel Institute of Technology and an MBA in Finance from NYU Stern School of Business.
SVP of Finance and Accounting
Mohammad M. Ali serves as the SVP of Finance and Accounting for Health Plus Management. He leads the accounting department and is responsible for all budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial controls of the company. He brings over 20 years of financial experience with multi-entity retail and service businesses.
Prior to joining Health Plus Management, Mr. Ali served as the SVP of Finance, Controller and Treasurer for XpresSpa for 11 years. Among his core strengths are financial re-structuring, cost reduction, banking, cash management, payroll, new system implementation and due diligence.
Mr. Ali holds a B.B.S. in Accounting from the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh and a B.A. in Accounting from City University of New York.
